Koohi Goth Women Hospital is focused on treating diseases like obstetric fistula also known as Vesicovaginal Fistula(VVF), rectovaginal Fistula (RVF) and other gynecology-related problems for all communities in Pakistan, especially in the rural areas. This is a 200-bed hospital that provides free of cost medical services to incoming patients and has expanded an outpatient department (OPD) that serves approximately 450 patients per day. A Neo-natal unit has been added with a capacity of 20 beds. The hospital’s initiatives have been recognized internationally including by the United Nations Children’s Fund, United Nations Population Fund, International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Global Clinton Initiative, The Lancet, and the BBC.
The free of cost approach for patients lead to having no cashier or payment collection counters at the Koohigoth Hospital premises.
Excess use of tobacco leading to oral cancer in women is rising in our communities, mainly in the lower-income group where oral hygiene is not a priority. Fighting the conditions and diseases Koohigoth Hospital will be opening “Oral Cancer ward”, for women with intensive care facilities consisting of 45 beds.
“There is no limit to learning”. Koohigoth Hospital is contributing to the community by offering certificate courses and diplomas.
There are more than 50 students enrolled in LPN Diploma Licensed Practitioner and more than 160 students in certificate courses for Midwifery. With the facility of a dormitory at the hospital campus having a capacity of more than 200 girls, young ladies from around the town are getting free of cost education. The duration of the courses is from 2 years to 2.5 years with complete financial support.
Koohigoth Hospital supports and provides quality trainings for students in the following disciplines with the objective of preparing future prospective staff and qualified professionals in the field of medical-technical support. Currently, more than 50 students are enrolled and getting a quality education with hands-on experience.
